1300 Palestinians
An Sang Hak’s poem "1300 Palestinians" explores human depravity as well as the absurdity of the Palestinian territorial war. According to the poem, animals attack their opponents for food, yet humans slaughter the same man for the land, which he strongly criticizes. Using ASCII art elements, I attempted to portray the idea that the geological characteristics of territory are, in fact, the result of people’s greed and sacrifice by reinterpreting the brutality and contradictory features of the war described in the poem.
